What is Aikido

Aikido is a modern martial art and is practised for fitness, self development and self-defence. It offers
a choice of responses, so that you can defend yourself safely without aggression.

You will improve your physical and mental energy, co-ordination, balance, posture and reflexes.
Aikido also promotes calmness under pressure - useful not only in self-defence but in everyday life.

And it's a very enjoyable way to spend your time off.

This class has been at Charteris since 1987 and chief instructor Charles Harris
(6th Dan) has run it since 1989. In that time, he has taught policemen and
security guards who have used Aikido techniques effectively in their work.
